Your Summer Soul Refresh: A Mid-Year Prayer Journal Reset

Will it be easy to pull away from the summer sun, the backyard BBQs, and the endless "go-go-go" of the season? No! But is it necessary for your Spirit to survive and thrive as we enter the second half of this year? Absolutely.

Sis, we are officially halfway through the year. Take a deep breath. Can you feel it? That subtle pull in your spirit that says, "I need to reconnect"? Summer isn't just a season for beach trips and ice cream; it’s a divine opportunity for a Summer Soul Refresh. If you’ve let your prayer journal gather dust while you’ve been busy chasing the sun, this is your wake-up call.

The enemy loves a distracted daughter of the King. He loves it when we are so "busy" enjoying the gifts that we forget the Giver. But not today. Today, we are reclaiming our time, our peace, and our faith journal habit. We are going to reset, realign, and reignite that fire for the Lord.

Fact #1: Your Soul Cannot Run on Last Season’s Manna

You wouldn't try to drive your car across the country on a single tank of gas, would you? Then why are we trying to navigate the complexities of our lives, our businesses, and our families on spiritual fumes from January?

The vision God gave you at the start of the year was never meant to be a "set it and forget it" deal. It’s a living, breathing calling that requires constant stewardship. Your prayer journal is the soil where that vision grows. If the soil is dry and hard from neglect, the seeds of your purpose will struggle to take root. This mid-year reset is the water your soul is thirsty for.

Truth vs. Lie: The Battle for Your Quiet Time

In this "Spiritual Spa" we’re creating together, we have to be honest about the warfare we face. The world tells you that summer is for "turning your brain off." The Spirit tells you it’s for turning your heart on.

The Lie of the Enemy The Eternal Truth of God
"I'm too busy with summer activities to journal." "I am the branch; He is the vine. Without Him, I can do nothing." (John 15:5)
"I've already failed my New Year's goals, so why bother?" "His mercies are new every morning. My mid-year is a fresh start."
"God doesn't need me to write it down for Him to hear me." "Habakkuk 2:2: Write the vision and make it plain."
"My prayer life is dry because I'm just tired." "Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength."

Spiritual Truth: Your consistency in your christian journal prompts is not for God’s benefit: it’s for yours. It’s the anchor that keeps you from drifting when the waves of life get choppy.

"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." : Isaiah 40:31

How to Battle: The 3-Step Prayer Journal Reset

If you’ve felt disconnected, don't let shame keep you away. Shame is not from the Father; conviction is a nudge to come closer. Here is how we battle the summer slump and get back into our faith journal with intentionality.

1. Audit Your First Half

Go back to the first page of your Crowned in Grace Planner or your prayer notebook. What did you ask God for in January? Which prayers were answered? Which ones are still in the "waiting room"?

Tracking your journey is a key part of spiritual maturity. When you see the "Yes" and the "Not Yet" written in your own handwriting, it builds a bridge of faith for the months ahead. Write down three things God has done for you since January 1st. Do it now.

2. Clear the Clutter (Physical and Spiritual)

You cannot have a "Spiritual Spa" experience in a cluttered space. Find a corner, light a candle, and bring out your Dear God Prayer Book.

Spiritual clutter looks like unforgiveness, unconfessed sin, or lingering fears. Use this summer reset to lay them at the feet of Jesus. If you feel stuck, use our Becoming Her Affirmation Cards to remind your soul of who you are in Him.

3. Re-Anchor Your North Star

What is the one thing God is asking of you for the rest of 2026? Is it to lead your family with more grace? To launch that business? To simply rest in His presence? Whatever it is, write it in big, bold letters. This is your North Star for the second half of the year.

Deeply Rooted: Summer Prayer Journal Prompts

To help you get the ink flowing, I’ve put together a list of prayer journal prompts specifically for this summer season. Grab your favorite pen and a cold glass of lemon water. Let’s dive deep.

  • The Lesson: Lord, what is the #1 thing You have been teaching me in the first half of this year? How can I apply this lesson to my summer rhythms?
  • The Growth: Where have I seen the most spiritual growth in myself lately? (Celebrate this! You are a Masterpiece in progress!)
  • The Surrender: What am I holding onto: a worry, a plan, a grudge: that I need to release into Your hands this summer?
  • The Intentionality: What does a "God-centered summer" look like for me? How can I weave prayer into my vacations and family gatherings?
  • The Vision: If I were to finish this year strong, what would my relationship with You look like on December 31st?

Using these christian journal prompts isn't about checking a box. It's about opening a door. Each word you write is a seed planted in the garden of your heart. And believe me, the harvest is coming.

Stewardship of the Vision

Sis, I want you to remember that you are a key part of the plan. God didn't give you those desires and those dreams just to have them sit on a shelf. He gave them to you because He trusts you to steward them.

When you sit down with your 75-Day Holy Girl Tracker or your Meditation Bloom Notebook, you are telling the Lord, "I value what You've given me. I am ready to work the ground."

Summer can be a whirlwind, but it can also be a sanctuary. You get to choose. Will you let the season pass you by in a blur of busyness, or will you use this mid-year mark to anchor yourself in the Truth?

Your soul deserves this refresh. Your calling demands it.

I am cheering you on, every step of the way. You are a winner, a daughter of the King, and you are deeply loved. Let's make the second half of this year the most spiritually vibrant one yet.

Go get your journal. The Father is waiting to talk to you.

Stay Grace-Led,

Charlet Billings
