Unapologetic Calling: Owning the Purpose God Put on Your Life

Day 23 of 30 , The Grace-Led Life
Category: Grow and Prosper

Will it always be easy? No!
Will everyone understand what God is asking you to do? Absolutely not!
Does that mean you should shrink, hide, or apologize for the purpose He placed inside you? Never!

Sister, you are not an accident. You are not a placeholder. You are not “too much,” too late, too inexperienced, or too ordinary for God to use.

You are a masterpiece. A winner. A key part of the plan.

There is a calling on your life that will require courage, obedience, stewardship, and a willingness to keep walking when the applause is absent. The enemy would love to convince you that humility means hiding. But biblical humility is not pretending you have nothing to offer. It is recognizing that every gift, vision, and opportunity comes from God, and then offering it back to Him boldly!

Truth vs. Lie: Your Calling Does Not Need Everyone’s Approval

The Lie: “If people do not understand my vision, maybe it is not from God.”

The Truth: Sometimes the vision is clear to you because God gave it to you.

Noah built before the rain came. Esther stepped forward before she knew the outcome. David was anointed before he was recognized. Mary carried a miracle before she had a full explanation.

God often gives the seed before He reveals the entire garden.

Your calling may begin as a quiet burden, a repeated idea, a holy dissatisfaction, or a vision that refuses to leave your heart. It may not look impressive at first. It may even look unreasonable to people who are only measuring success by worldly standards.

But surface-level success asks, “How many people noticed?”
Deeply rooted purpose asks, “Was I faithful?”

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
, Ephesians 2:10

Spiritual Truth

You do not have to manufacture a purpose. God has already prepared good works for you. Your responsibility is to listen, prepare, obey, and walk.

Fact #1: Your Identity Comes Before Your Assignment

Before you are a business owner, mother, leader, wife, student, caregiver, ministry worker, or creative, you are God’s daughter.

That matters because your assignment must never become the source of your identity.

If your identity is rooted in achievement, every delay will feel like rejection. Every closed door will feel like failure. Every criticism will feel like a verdict.

But when your identity is anchored in Christ, you can receive correction without collapsing. You can experience hidden seasons without believing you have been forgotten. You can celebrate someone else’s harvest without abandoning your own field.

The enemy wants you to confuse your season with your identity. You may be in a waiting season, but you are not a waiting woman. You may be learning, but you are not lacking. You may be starting small, but you are not insignificant.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are chosen. You are called.

“God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
, 2 Timothy 1:7

Fear may be present, but it does not get to lead.

Excuse #1: “I’m Not Ready Yet”

Let me lovingly confront this one because I have used it too.

“I need more money first.”
“I need more training.”
“I need a bigger audience.”
“I need to feel confident.”
“I’ll start when life calms down.”

Sometimes preparation is wise. But sometimes “I’m not ready” is fear wearing a very responsible outfit.

Here is the hard truth: You may never feel completely ready.

Courage is not the absence of trembling. Courage is obedience while your knees are still shaking.

God does not require you to know every step before you take the first one. He asks you to trust Him with the next one.

“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
, Proverbs 16:9

Spiritual Truth

Planning is stewardship. Control is not.

You can create a plan, study the opportunity, manage your time, build your skills, and prepare your resources while still surrendering the outcome to God.

That is not striving. That is partnership.

Fact #2: Boldness Is Part of Your Stewardship

We often talk about managing money, time, and possessions. But you must also steward your gifts.

Your voice is a stewardship.
Your creativity is a stewardship.
Your story is a stewardship.
Your leadership is a stewardship.
Your vision is a stewardship.

If God has placed a seed in your hand, burying it forever is not humility. It is fear.

This does not mean you need to announce every idea before it is ready. Wisdom knows when to be quiet. But there comes a time when private preparation must become public obedience.

You cannot remain in the greenhouse forever. At some point, the seed must be planted in the field.

Ask yourself: What has God placed in my heart that I keep postponing? What dream have I minimized because someone else did not validate it? Where have I been waiting for permission God has already given?

Your calling may look different from your sister’s calling. That is not a problem. The body of Christ needs different gifts, different voices, different assignments, and different expressions of faithfulness.

Comparison is a thief. Obedience is your North Star.

How to Battle the Fear of Being Seen

When you step into purpose, resistance may come. Some resistance will be internal. Some will come from people. Some will come through distractions, discouragement, and confusion.

The enemy understands that a woman who knows who she is can change a family, influence a workplace, build a business, disciple a generation, and create room for others to rise.

So battle wisely.

1. Write the Vision

Use a faith journal to write what you believe God is showing you. Be specific.

What is the vision?
Who will it serve?
What gifts will you need to develop?
What is the next obedient action?

Writing makes the invisible tangible. It gives the seed a place to land.

2. Pray Before You Perform

Do not rush into action just to prove that you are serious. Begin with prayer.

A prayer journal can help you record your questions, fears, praises, and conversations with God. The “Dear God…” prayer pages from Charlet’s Stationery create a simple space for prayers, confessions, and gratitude.

You do not need polished language. God wants your honest heart.

3. Take One Brave Step

Do not wait until you can complete the entire assignment. Identify one action you can take within the next 24 hours.

Send the email.
Register for the class.
Outline the first chapter.
Create the budget.
Make the appointment.
Share the testimony.
Apply for the opportunity.

Small obedience is still obedience.

4. Review Your Fruit

At the end of each week, ask: What did this step produce? Did it bring peace, wisdom, growth, or confirmation? What did I learn?

A God-led planner like The Purpose Passport can help you connect your spiritual growth with your everyday goals through weekly planning, Bible reading, sermon notes, reflections, and action steps.

Purpose is not only discovered in dramatic moments. It is cultivated through consistent stewardship.

Christian Journal Prompts for Owning Your Calling

Open your Crowned in Grace Planner or favorite notebook. Put on peaceful music. Make a cup of tea. Create a gentle, intentional space with God.

Then reflect on these Christian journal prompts:

  1. What gifts, passions, or burdens has God repeatedly placed on my heart?
  2. Where am I apologizing for being gifted, ambitious, creative, or called?
  3. What fear is most likely to keep me from obeying God?
  4. What would I do differently if I truly believed I was God’s workmanship?
  5. Where has comparison caused me to abandon my own assignment?
  6. What is one “small yes” God may be asking of me this week?
  7. Who could be helped, encouraged, or changed through my obedience?
  8. What practical resource, skill, or habit do I need to develop to steward my calling well?
  9. What Scripture will serve as an anchor when I feel discouraged?
  10. Complete this declaration: “By God’s grace, I will no longer apologize for…”

Now turn your favorite answer into a prayer. Let the page become both a garden and a war room.

A Prayer for Bold Obedience

Father God,

Thank You for creating me with intention and giving my life meaning. Thank You for the gifts, experiences, ideas, and desires You have placed within me.

Forgive me for the times I have hidden because of fear, comparison, insecurity, or the opinions of others. Forgive me for calling myself unqualified when You have called me chosen.

Give me discernment to recognize Your voice. Give me courage to take the next step. Give me wisdom to steward my time, resources, relationships, and opportunities well.

Silence every lie of the enemy that says I am too late, too ordinary, too broken, or too inexperienced. Root me deeply in Your Word so that I am not moved by applause or criticism.

Lord, fulfill Your purpose for me. Make me bold without becoming prideful, humble without becoming hidden, and faithful without needing immediate results.

I surrender the timeline, but I commit to obedience. I surrender the outcome, but I will honor the assignment.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Sister, you do not need to become someone else to walk in purpose. You need to become more fully surrendered to who God created you to be.

You are not too much. You are not behind. You are not disqualified.

You are a masterpiece, and your calling is worth stewarding.

Stand tall. Root deep. Take the next step.

I am cheering for you; and more importantly, God is with you every step of the way!

With love,

Charlet
