Will it be easy to break through the walls holding you back? No!
Will it be worth it to stop agreeing with the lies that have kept you small, silent, and stuck? Absolutely!
Sister, some walls are built from fear. Others are built from disappointment, shame, comparison, rejection, or one painful failure you never fully processed. Over time, those walls can begin to feel like permanent parts of your identity.
But hear me clearly: a wall is not your destiny.
You are not disqualified because you feel afraid. You are not behind because your journey looks different. You are not forgotten because the vision has taken longer than expected.
You are a masterpiece, a winner, and a key part of God’s plan!
As we continue Day 28 of our 30-day series, Stepping Into Purpose, we are going to name the walls, expose the lies, and replace them with the truth of God’s Word. Grab your faith journal, take a deep breath, and let’s get honest.
Fact #1: The Wall Often Begins with a Lie
The enemy rarely starts with a dramatic attack. Sometimes, he begins with a quiet suggestion:
- “You are not ready.”
- “You always mess things up.”
- “Someone else could do this better.”
- “God may use other people, but He will not use you.”
- “It is too late.”
- “You need to have everything figured out before you begin.”
If you hear a lie often enough, you may eventually treat it like truth. That is why the battle for your calling begins in your mind.
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
: Romans 12:2, KJV
Spiritual Truth: Your thoughts may be loud, but they are not always true. God’s Word is your final authority!
A faith journal gives you a safe place to identify the thoughts shaping your choices. You cannot confront what you refuse to name. Write the lie down. Look at it without shame. Then ask, “What does God say instead?”

Lie #1: “I Am Not Qualified for My Calling”
This lie sounds humble, but it often disguises fear.
You may tell yourself that you need more education, more money, more confidence, more followers, or more confirmation before you take the next step. Growth and preparation are valuable, but perfection is not a prerequisite for obedience.
Moses had questions. Jeremiah felt too young. Gideon saw himself as the least important person in his family. Yet God called them, equipped them, and worked through their obedience.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
: Ephesians 2:10, KJV
You do not have to be qualified in the world’s eyes to be obedient in God’s hands.
What to Do:
- Write down the calling, dream, or assignment you have been avoiding.
- List the qualifications you believe you are missing.
- Pray over that list and ask God which items require preparation: and which are simply excuses.
- Choose one small step you can take this week.
The first step may be sending an email, researching a course, creating a budget, outlining an idea, or asking a wise woman for counsel.
Small obedience is still obedience!
Lie #2: “My Past Has the Final Say”
Perhaps you made a decision you regret. Maybe you trusted the wrong person, wasted time, mishandled money, stayed too long, or walked away from something God asked you to steward.
The enemy would love for your past to become a prison. But in Christ, your past can become a testimony, a classroom, and evidence of God’s mercy.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
: 2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV
This does not mean you ignore consequences or avoid healing. It means your mistakes do not get to rename you.
You are not “the woman who failed.”
You are not “the woman who missed her chance.”
You are not “the woman who should have known better.”
You are the woman God is still forming!
Christian Journal Prompts for Releasing the Past
Use these prompts in your faith journal or prayer journal:
- What past event still influences how I see myself today?
- What conclusion did I draw about myself because of that experience?
- Is that conclusion supported by Scripture: or by shame?
- What did God teach me through that season?
- What would forgiveness, healing, or wise accountability look like now?
- What new name does God give me in Christ?
Do not rush this process. Some walls come down brick by brick. Invite God into every layer.
Lie #3: “If I Cannot See the Whole Path, I Should Not Move”
Faith is not always a floodlight. Often, it is a lamp for the next step.
The surface-level world tells you to wait until you have certainty, a perfect plan, and guaranteed results. But a deeply rooted woman of faith learns to move with God even when she cannot see every detail.
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
: Proverbs 3:5, KJV
This is where spiritual planning becomes powerful. Your vision needs a vessel. Your calling needs stewardship. Your prayers need practical action.
The Purpose Passport God-Led Planner was designed around this very idea: bringing spiritual growth into your everyday routine through goals, Bible reading, time-blocking, weekly reviews, and intentional planning.

How to Battle Uncertainty
Create a simple “next-step map” in your planner:
- God’s direction: What do I sense He is inviting me to do?
- Current reality: What resources, responsibilities, and limitations do I have?
- Next faithful step: What can I do within the next seven days?
- Support: Who can pray with me or offer wise counsel?
- Surrender: What outcome do I need to release to God?
You do not need the entire map. You need your next faithful step.
Lie #4: “I Have to Do Everything Alone”
Independence can look strong, but isolation can quietly weaken you.
You were never designed to carry every burden without support. God often sends wisdom, encouragement, correction, and confirmation through His people.
“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
: Galatians 6:2, KJV
Ask yourself honestly: Am I protecting my pride by refusing help?
There is no shame in asking a trusted friend to pray with you. There is no shame in seeking biblical counsel, professional support, mentorship, or accountability. A strong woman is not one who never needs help. A strong woman knows when to reach for the right help.
Your Breakthrough Practice: Write the Lie, Speak the Truth
Take a page in your prayer journal and divide it into two columns.
On the left, write The Lie.
On the right, write God’s Truth.
For example:
| The Lie | God’s Truth |
|---|---|
| I am too afraid to begin. | God has not given me the spirit of fear. |
| I have missed my opportunity. | God can redeem my time and direct my steps. |
| I am not enough. | I am God’s workmanship in Christ. |
| I will fail again. | God is with me and will strengthen me. |
| I must do this alone. | God provides wisdom, community, and help. |
Then read the truth aloud.
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
: 2 Timothy 1:7, KJV

Christian Journal Prompts for Your Breakthrough
Spend time with these prompts today. Do not answer them with what sounds spiritual. Answer them honestly.
- What wall feels strongest in my life right now?
- What lie has been holding that wall together?
- When did I first begin believing this lie?
- How has this lie affected my decisions, relationships, confidence, or obedience?
- What Scripture directly confronts this lie?
- What would change if I truly believed God’s truth?
- What is one small action that agrees with God instead of fear?
- Who can help me stay accountable?
- What am I surrendering to God today?
- What breakthrough do I want to remember and thank Him for one month from now?
You can use the Dear God Prayer Book to write your prayers, confessions, praises, and honest questions. Each page creates a sacred pause: a place to speak with God instead of rehearsing fear alone.
A Prayer for Breaking Down Mental Walls
Father,
I bring You every wall that has kept me from walking fully in my calling. I bring You the fear, shame, comparison, disappointment, confusion, and insecurity I have carried for too long.
Show me every lie I have accepted as truth. Give me courage to name it, wisdom to confront it, and faith to replace it with Your Word.
Remind me that I am Your workmanship. Remind me that my past does not have more authority than Your grace. Remind me that I do not have to see the whole road to take the next step with You.
Strengthen my mind. Anchor my heart. Restore my vision. Help me steward what You have placed in my hands with humility and courage.
Where the enemy has built walls, create pathways. Where I have been frozen, teach me to move. Where I have been hiding, call me into the light.
I surrender my timeline, my reputation, and my need for control. Lead me into the purpose You designed for me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Your Wall Is Not the End of Your Story
Sister, the wall may be real: but so is your God!
You may need healing. You may need wisdom. You may need preparation. You may need to take responsibility for your part. But you do not have to remain trapped behind an old lie.
God is still writing your story. He is still cultivating your roots. He is still preparing a harvest from seeds you thought were buried forever.
“With God I can leap over a wall.”
: Psalm 18:29
Today, pick up your pen. Name the wall. Expose the lie. Find the Scripture. Take the next step.
You are not stuck. You are being strengthened. You are not disqualified. You are being developed. You are not forgotten. You are a key part of the plan!
With love and expectancy,
Charlet

So true. I really appreciate your support and guidance. Mom
