Are you tired of waiting? Yes!
Do you feel like the Promise God whispered to your heart has fallen into a deep, century-long slumber? Absolutely!
Sweet sister, I have been there. Sitting in the silence, watching everyone else’s "happily ever after" unfold while my own Vision felt locked behind a wall of thorns. It feels like a curse, doesn’t it? To have a Dream so big and a reality so… quiet.
But what if I told you that the silence isn't a sign of God’s absence, but a cocoon for His power?
In our second installment of the "Disney Princesses vs. Women of the Bible" series, we’re looking at two women who knew the weight of a long wait: Sleeping Beauty (Aurora) and Sarah from the book of Genesis. Both were women of destiny. Both were defined by a Word spoken over them. And both had to experience a "death-like sleep" before they could walk into their true Calling.
The Curse vs. The Covenant
In the classic tale, Aurora is born with a prophecy of greatness, only to be met with a curse. She pricks her finger and falls into a deep sleep, waiting for "true love’s kiss" to break the spell. She is passive. She is unconscious. She is literally waiting in the dark.
Then we have Sarah.
Sarah was given a Promise by the Creator of the Universe. He told her husband, Abraham, that she would be the mother of nations. But then? Twenty-five years of silence. Sarah didn’t fall into a literal sleep, but her womb did. Her hope did. She waited until she was ninety years old, well past the point of human possibility.
While Aurora’s wait was an enchanted slumber, Sarah’s wait was a spiritual war. And that is where you and I live today.

Fact #1: The Wait is Not a Waste
The Enemy loves to whisper that if nothing is happening on the surface, then nothing is happening at all. He wants you to believe that your "waiting season" is just wasted time.
That is a lie from the pit.
In the Kingdom of God, the wait is where the roots grow. You cannot sustain the weight of the Vision if you haven't built the spiritual muscle during the wait. Sarah had to be stripped of her own ability so that when Isaac finally arrived, there was no doubt who gets the Glory.
If you are feeling stuck, use this time to steward your heart. Grab your prayer journal and start documenting the small victories. If God is going to make you a "mother of nations" (or a CEO, or a ministry leader), He is using the silence to refine your character.
"And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God." : Romans 4:19-20
Spiritual Truth: God doesn’t just give promises; He prepares the person to carry them.
Truth vs. Lie
The Lie: "It’s too late. I’ve aged out of my dream. The spindle already pricked me, and I’m done."
The Truth: God is the Author of Time. He doesn’t work on a biological clock; He works on a Covenant Clock.
Sarah laughed when she heard she’d have a baby at ninety. She thought her "sleep" was permanent. But God’s response is the ultimate North Star for our lives: "Is anything too hard for the LORD?" (Genesis 18:14).
When you feel like your dream is dead, remember that we serve a God who specializes in resurrections. Whether you are using a christian planner to map out your goals or a faith journal to process your fears, keep writing. The story isn't over until HE says it's over.

Fact #2: You Must Wake Up to the Promise
Aurora was awakened by a kiss. Sarah was awakened by the fulfillment of the Word.
Genesis 21:1 says, "The LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as He had spoken."
Notice the repetition: As He had said. As He had spoken.
Your awakening doesn't depend on a Prince or a lucky break. It depends on the integrity of God’s Word. When the "set time" arrived, Sarah’s laughter changed from a laugh of doubt to a laugh of pure, unadulterated joy. She named her son Isaac, which means "Laughter."
How to Battle the Wait
If you feel like you’re in a "Sleeping Beauty" season: hidden, quiet, or overlooked: here is your battle plan to stay "deeply rooted" in the Father:
- Audit Your Heart: Are you waiting on God or waiting for a result? Shift your focus to the Promise-Giver, not just the promise. Use affirmaton cards to realign your identity daily.
- Track the Seeds: Use a bible study planner to record every scripture HE gives you during this season. These are your anchors when the storms of doubt hit.
- Speak Life over the "Dead" Places: Sarah’s body was "dead" in terms of fertility, but God’s Word is life-giving. Speak His promises out loud. If He said you are a masterpiece, believe it: even while you're still in the cocoon.

You are a Key Part of the Plan
Sister, you are not just a spectator in your own life. You are a daughter of the King, and your "sleep" is almost over. Whether you’ve been waiting for a year or twenty-five, know this: The God who visited Sarah is the same God who is visiting you.
He hasn't forgotten the Vision He placed in your spirit. He hasn't moved on to someone else. He is simply waiting for the set time: the moment when His Glory will be most evident in your story.
Don't let the Enemy steal your joy during the wait. Lean into the "Spiritual Spa" of His presence. Rest in the Marshmallow Cream of His grace and let the Misty Sage of His peace wash over you.
The kiss of the King is coming, and when you wake up, you will realize that not a single second of the wait was wasted.
Stay expectant, stay organized, and stay in His Word.
With so much love and grace,
Charlet
